Who Else Wants to Be Good-Looking?
It sounds quite obvious that the vast majority will answer YES, I want to be good-looking! Even if you replied ironically or if you are the rebel type of person. It’s part of nature it belongs to human nature.
That works in relationships, with a friend, with a romantic partner, at work, we all need partners to build our projects. It also happens in places.
We feel sometimes immediate attracted to some restaurants, bars, because of the vibe it causes on us. That “vibe” usually is caused by many factors. Smell, color, harmony and even how we are feeling, I mean self-esteem.
Do some effort to remember the last time you were feeling Top of the World? Probably you remember what you were dressing, your posture, your look, clothes, the soundtrack.
Many times we try to go back to those moments when we are not feeling a hundred (yeah, they happen to everybody).
Many could probably think that it requires sort of complex formula to master or turnaround to become good-looking.
The real deal is that it is not complex. It depends on how you face it. If you consider yourself discipline, it would be easy.
Also if you are self-motivated, that would be easy to. BUT both of these things require a long-term effort, taking every day a new step.
Sometimes you can move back some steps, but if you do it constantly, the chances are 100% favorable to you.
What is necessary to be good looking?
Let’s say you are not on your Top Shape in regards to your self-esteem. Try this for a week and I guarantee you will see results.
The fact that you are going to really commit for a week, it is one of the best things you can do. I tried this and I was impressed by comparing visually some aspects. And after that was easy to commit.
Take a picture of your actual situation. Right here and right now. Ask for a friend to take a picture or if you are by yourself, go to a mirror, exactly the way you are looking.
To evidence, the actual look on hair, skin, nails, clothes on, posture, face. Do not get distracted. Just do it. We are going to compare this picture taken a week from now.
I suggest 3 basic things, that worked with me, to work on during this week. As soon as you can, I mean, immediately act on 3 basic things:
1) Posture – Stand up straight, put your shoulders straight, chin up, take a long breath. Picture the Superman Pose, I’m not kidding, it is scientifically proven that it can shift your mood.
Do this as many times as you remember. The more the better, but start your day with the Winner Posture. Another way to picture this is to think in a powerful, successful person for you. How this person is standing? How does this person sit? Chin Up, or chin down? shoulders straight or shoulders forward bending?
2) Grooming – That requires some few tasks that could be worked immediately such as a good shower, shaving, trimming. Go get a haircut. -Funny thing – while writing this, my daughter (10 years old) just called me crying desperately, through FaceTime, saying that it’s the saddest day of her life… She said she had her hair cut and the hairdresser “killed” her hair.
When she said that I thought she was going to show half of the haircut away, but it was just a few fingers up! She has very long hair and proud of it… I said to her that she still looks awesome and still looks like the most pretty girl on the planet! :-)
I took some deep breaths with her and prepared her to move on – she is going to do some school tests right now. Hydrate your hair, use some perfume, scrub your face gently as you are removing the dead cells of your skin.
Spend at least three to five minutes (3-5) minutes on the shower dedicated cleansing your face. Then moisturize, smell good! Everybody likes someone who smells good!
3) Clothing – Take a good look at your clothes. Plan the clothes you are going to use during the week. Most important thing: Clothes need to be neat, fitting well, that means your actual size and some class. Meaning solid sober colors, explore some red and explore using some accessories. Not necessarily you need to buy clothes. If you need to, that’s a good excuse to be more dressed up than usual and also, of course, some shopping therapy could do some good. But don’t forget to go shopping with the “new” mindset.
4) Your Vibe – That means your attitude. Your attitude determines your altitude! Hang out with friends with a good vibe, be generous, be gentle, smile, say thank you and please. People naturally will like your vibe and will love to be with you. Nobody wants to hang out with bad vibes. Again picture someone with a lot of friends… How do they look like? Most probably, smiling, engaging, interacting right?
You may say … BUT I’m overweight, I’m too skinny, my skin looks horrible…
Ok. it’s not the end of the world. Somehow and anytime you have to start. There’s a saying that I the best time to start was yesterday and the second best time is now!
Other internal, basic steps during the week to commit for the big change:
– Drink 8-12 glasses of water a day – In one week, I promise, you will feel the difference in energy and your skin plumped.
– Sleep earlier and better – Get 7-8 hours of sleep. – You don’t have time? Prepare to sleep – so you can reach deeper levels of sleep earlier. Deeper levels of sleep mean you will feel more refreshed.
– Workout every day – even if it is 15 minute walking – Ideally go for a 30-minute walk – If you can for 1 hour that’s the best. But every day to start pumping your blood and muscles.
– Meditate – at least for 10 minutes the closest you get to 30 minutes, the better. Start breathing long and deep. There’s one breathing exercise I love, which is breath – 4 count – hold – 4 count – release – 4 count – hold 4 count…. for 10 times. It makes you feel peaceful and calm. It helps manages the stresses of life. Use positive affirmations. The ones you feel more confident to use.
Believe it or not, the first steps to good looking is reachable and easy to do. They just need you to commit and discipline to go through. One week later. At the same place, you took the first picture, mentioned here, and compare yourself on appearance. Then access your feelings.
I’m pretty confident you are going to feel much better.
