CBD Oil for the Skin

What Are The Benefits of CBD Oil To The Skin?

We can’t deny that there are many benefits from CBD oil, but first, let’s see what the highs and lows for skin and health in general are:

People are treating Acne with CBD oil, based on a study launched in 2014 by the Journal of Clinical Investigation – that the production of sebum has lowered after using CBD oil on a daily basis.

First of all because, the excess of oil produced by the skin, associated with bacterias, pollution, dust, and debris, lead to acne. Secondly, because CBD oil, proved to have anti-inflammatory properties.

When we look closer to the substances on CBD oil, we have high rates of vitamins A, C and E. Which combined creates a fantastic synergetic antioxidant effect on the skin.

Vitamin-C is one of the most potent synthesizers of collagen. Vitamin-A is responsible for stimulating the skin cell turnover and vitamin-E a free radical blocker in this composition.

That proves, at least in theory that CBD oil has incredible properties, not only for acne treatment but also as an excellent anti-aging.

Based on that, probably this is the main reason why the subject creates a lot of controversies as this is something new and of course there is a pressure in the market to make CBD oil “the product of the year.”

What exactly is CBD Oil? Can we have a better understanding of why the controversy?

Primarily because people associate CBD Oil with Marijuana, even though it comes from the same plant, the substances that create the “high” (mind-altering), which is the THC and on CBD, on the other hand, for health benefits are two different things.

CBD is not psychoactive. Meaning that it doesn’t change anyone’s state of mind. And studies are running right now showing that many medical benefits are coming to the usage of CBD oil.

What are other benefits of CBD oil to the skin?

From certain types of acne – acne vulgaris – the most common by the way and associated with the excessive production of oil, the results are promising. And now the studies are evolving regarding including other skin issues such as psoriasis, eczema, and rosacea to name a few.

Usually, what is good for the skin, the chances to be good for the hair and nails are also high. Studies are also moving to that direction and showing positive results.

Due to the presence of the whole chain of fatty acids (omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9) substances well accepted and absorbed by the skin and scalp. CBD Oil is being highlighted to enhance growth hair, and strengthen nails.

What does the FDA say about CBD oil for the Skin?

A recent study June last year (2018) approved a purified version of CBD oil for therapeutic purpose. To be used on two types epilepsy by the prescription name of Epilodex.

Then, another recent study, now in 2014, said that the FDA had not approved the use of marijuana or all of its components, only the purified CBD formulation for a specific therapeutic purpose.

The decision depends on more clinical results, that will be released by the time of clinical trials, so it’s a matter of time. It needs more consistent results, which depend on people who are receiving the treatment with the medication, under a reliable dosage and compare to…

Side effects of CBD oil

It’s not fair to say the conclusions about side effects of CBD oil are consistent as well as, the positive results of usage. But the reality is that adults tolerate better the tests. Which include side effect on the central nervous system, mood, vital signs under high dosages. In all these cases, no side effects were pointed.

Since the FDA didn’t approve in full the usage of specific products containing CBD oil, it will be hard to determine the whole picture of benefits and side effects.

It doesn’t mean that it’s not legal, it’s important to check with the local healthcare provider the information needed for the specific use.

Particular things to be aware When Buying CBD oil

As mentioned here previously it is a brand new market, so the prices are not fully established yet. Now, companies sometimes can take advantage of that naiveness situation of the market and claim the best, the best value, the broadest spectrum, so it’s important to look after some critical points:

  • If the state that you live is marijuana-free – Some products may show “full spectrum” on the label, meaning that THC is present and as we saw above, THC is psychoactive which makes it illegal in many states in the US.
  • Level of CBD Purity above 95% – Under that level probably it has been refined many times, and if you are looking for effectiveness, purity is what will make the difference.
  • Price range – Anything under $40 claiming innocence in a concentration of 100mg – attention, double check information

Verdict Regarding CBD Oil for Skin

There is no doubt that CBD oil can deliver many results to our skin and health. We couldn’t expect less as it is provided from mother nature, right?! This is exciting how the industry is always thriving to exceed, discovering new actives, to match to our skin, finding a way, either to solve a specific skin issue, that affects millions of people or to slow down the aging process.

The bottom line is to assist a group of aficionados for CBD, which is trending now, and surf the wave of opportunity to be a pioneer.

On the other hand, you have a vast group of cutting-edge actives and natural ingredients, which have more time in the market and so more people to prove the results.
