Taking care of your skin like a boss!

Taking Care of the Skin Like a Boss

Taking Care of the Skin Like a Boss

I still remember that stage of my life when I had a lot of pimples, like, a lot.
The kind of skin that makes you feel embarrassed to go out. I was 16, and honestly, that’s a tough age for anyone dealing with self-esteem.

It felt like every time I stepped outside, people were staring at me and silently saying,
"Poor guy... so young, so sweet, but all those pimples... I hope he finds his way."

The Start of a Lifelong Journey

Back then, I didn’t have much money, but I had something even more valuable: love and support from my family, and access to books.

That’s when I realized something powerful, knowledge could change everything.

So I started reading. A lot. About health. About psychology. About anything that could help me improve my skin and feel confident again.

  • Health, because I wanted to understand what food does to our body.

  • Psychology, because I needed strength to deal with people’s judgment.

I couldn’t clear my skin overnight, but I could learn how to face the world with resilience.

What You Put Inside Reflects on the Outside

The first lesson? Our body is like a machine. What you put in matters.

If you give it the right fuel, you get better energy, and better skin.

So I made small changes:

I added oats, wheat germ, oranges, apples, and lots of greens.

Day by day, I felt stronger and healthier.

And within two weeks, I noticed my skin improving, naturally.

A Cycle That Changed Everything

These little habits triggered something amazing. I was hooked.

I was on the swim team at school, and suddenly, my performance improved too.

My schedule was packed, classes in the morning, swimming in the afternoon, and still, I found time to eat well.

Sure, like every teenager, I had moments of pizza, soda, or fries with friends.

But I kept it balanced. I never felt guilty about those moments because guilt is worse than junk food.

I focused on enjoying life and making better choices.

I Was Healing My Skin’s Microbiome Without Even Knowing

The more I learned, the more it all made sense.

I read about gut bacteria, the good kind that lives in our stomach and helps us feel good, digest food, and even boost our mood.

We have over 400 species living inside us, working alongside viruses and fungi to form something called the microbiome.

Back then, I didn’t know all the scientific names, but I could see it working.
Years later, at 44, I still use what I learned, and it still works.

The Skin’s Microbiome: Your First Line of Defense

Just like the gut, our skin also has its own microbiome.

We coexist with billions of bacteria and microorganisms on our skin.

If we protect the good ones, they protect us.

When your skin is balanced, it stays clear, smooth, and resilient.

The body is miraculous, it can heal itself if you support it with the right habits.

As Hippocrates said,

"Let thy food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food."

How to Keep Your Skin’s Microbiome Healthy

Here are the six habits I’ve followed since then—and still swear by today:

1. Eat healthy and balanced meals.

  • Half your plate: colorful veggies

  • One-quarter: protein

  • One-quarter: whole carbs like sweet potatoes or quinoa

  • Add fruits for vitamins and antioxidants

  • Avoid processed foods

2. Exfoliate gently—once a week.

  • Too much exfoliation can strip away the good bacteria

  • That can lead to dry or oily skin due to pH imbalance

3. Use pure, natural, and science-backed skincare.

  • Ingredients that nourish the skin help cell turnover

  • You want skincare that brings out your skin’s best, not just coats it

4. Stay hydrated.

  • Aim for 8–12 glasses of water a day to keep skin plump and radiant

5. Always wear sunscreen.

  • SPF 30 or higher protects your microbiome and prevents aging

6. Use only skincare that makes UFlawless.

  • Choose medical-grade products that combine purity and results

Taking care of your skin is not just about creams or treatments...

It’s about how you nourish your body, how you treat your mind, and the choices you make daily.

Once I started treating my skin like a priority, not a problem, I became more confident, healthier, and honestly... happier.

You don’t need perfection. You just need the right knowledge, the right choices, and a little bit of consistency.
